PUBLIC NOTICE

 

If you wish to make a complaint against any employee of the Brownsburg Police Department or the agency, the following procedures should be noted:

          

           A)  Report your complaint to the supervisor on duty at the Brownsburg Police Department, 31 N. Green Street or call (317)-852-1109 and the supervisor will contact you.

          

           B)  If your complaint is directed toward a supervisor, you should contact the Enforcement Division Commander @ (317)-852-1109 or the office of the Chief of Police @ (317)-852-1235, and you will be contacted. 

 

The Brownsburg Police Department strives to provide quality service to the citizens of Brownsburg.  Your complaint will be investigated in accordance with Brownsburg Police Department Policy and Procedure.

IC 35-44-2-2(5) A person who makes a complaint against a law enforcement officer to the state or municipality that employs the officer: A) alleging the officer engaged in misconduct while performing the officers duties; B) knowing the complaint to be false; commits false informing, a class B misdemeanor.  However, the offense is a class A misdemeanor if it substantially hinders any law enforcement process or it results in harm to an innocent person.
