The Town of Brownsburg purchased the building and roughly 3 acres it sets on in October of 2000 specifically for the purpose of creating a training facility/indoor range for the Brownsburg Police Department at a cost of $600,000.
The range is actually a self-contained building within the building. It is made of concrete and block with steel plating in the ceiling sound barriers. The range has a separate air circulation system (which can be seen on the north side of the building). It is a multi-purpose range capable of handling larger caliber weapons, anything the Brownsburg Police Department carries either routinely or the Emergency Response Team high powered weapons.
